Is dying the only option?

Somehow it feels like it was my fault but it was not, I was simply not aware of the fact of what could happen!

Just few days back, a girl decided to take her life. She’s gone now ! I still can’t believe what happened and still trying to figure out the reason.

That girl, she was 14 year old and was living her life at her best. Her house is right in front of mine, I can still see her big picture hanging on the front wall. Though our houses were so close, we were not. I could see her on the window looking at me but never talked to her or greeted her. But I did notice what she used to do, she was like most of the girls- simple, self loving and beautiful.

According to me, it was the best phase of her life where the most amazing things happen. While we figure out our lives in the college years, that’s the time we remember as carefree period. She never felt like a person who is under stress. I used to listen to her whistling at street dogs, calling them to have fun. While playing with friends she laughed a lot, no one realised she was under so much stress that one day she might do something she shouldn’t have done.

Just a decision made in haste finished everything, her family left broken into pieces. That part she played in their life will remain a ghost forever.

What possibly could have happened that she was not ready to bear anymore?

Couldn’t we overcome this just by talking?

If only someone would have talked to her ! Maybe this all wouldn’t have happened!

To the pool of people who think that the girl was a coward, she was not, no one is keen to die. Some people are working over immortality. We need to understand that thoughts about losing our own life aren’t normal, it’s a problem that need to be dealt with care.

Suicidal thoughts come from depression and depression has its own roots. Nothing is born out of nowhere ! Taking our own life isn’t a joke and it takes equal courage to end it as much as it takes to live it. No one should confuse sickness with the word COWARD.

Even though a person looks complete from outside, it is not certain that he is actually a person with no stress. Some people bear pain and we can see it on their faces but some may struggle with showing off their emotions to people and they contain it in order to not to stress anyone else.

At someplace I thought – Was it my fault? Maybe I should have talked to her! Maybe this happened because she had no one to talk to!

At this time, I can only think of the possibilities that could have happened if I had done things differently but this doesn’t change anything! Does it?

It feels so wrong to think that someone lost a life just because they were not okay and they had no one to talk to !

This story may seem like a waste of time to some but it really changed something inside me since the day it has happened. We are not supposed to be this lonely, but we are. We don’t TALK like we are supposed to, we just want to talk but don’t want to know what’s wrong with someone’s life or if we can be of some help. Things doesn’t change once they have happened, time doesn’t go back and people doesn’t come back too!

So I implore all of the people to talk more about someone’s mental health. Check up on your friends and family regularly. Help them even if you haven’t ever talked before, maybe it doesn’t change a thing in your life but it changes theirs.

I still don’t have the answer to the question – WAS IT MY FAULT? No one can tell. And it gives me chills to feel, that she would have felt at the moment she decided to do something like that to herself.
